Biography
Prof Linda Byrne is the Dean of the Faculty of Psychology, Counselling and Psychotherapy at The Cairnmillar Institute (CMI). She is registered psychologist with an area of endorsement in Clinical Neuropsychology and has over 25 years of clinical, research and teaching experience in the areas of psychological assessment, neuropsychiatric disorders, neuropsychological disorders, and neuropsychological rehabilitation. Prof Byrne has extensive experience in training and supervising post-graduate psychology students. Prior to commencing at CMI, Professor Byrne was Deputy Head of the School of Psychology at Deakin University, and she has coordinated post-graduate training programs for many years. Professor Byrne’s clinical work focuses on the neuropsychological assessment of children, adolescents, and adults with neurological, psychiatric, and educational difficulties. Her major area of research is in the understanding and remediation of neuro- and social cognitive deficits in clinical disorders. More recently Professor Byrne’s research has been focusing on agents that may protect or improve cognitive functioning in both healthy and compromised populations.

Biography
Dr Chris Cheers completed his undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree with Majors in Neuroscience and Psychology, and honours in Psychology at the University of Sydney. He completed his Masters of Psychology (Educational and Developmental) at Australian Catholic University. Chris has practiced as a Counsellor and Psychologist for the last four years, specialising in child and adolescent work, family therapy and school refusal. Chris is a board endorsed Educational and Developmental Psychologist. Chris has taught at ACU for the previous six years teaching undergraduate and postgraduate units in counselling skills, behavioural neuroscience, youth mental health, research design and statistics. His research interests are in alcohol consumption, health psychology, and gender.

Biography
Leesa is the Director of the University Psychology Clinics located within the University of Tasmania, and teaches and supervises in the postgraduate psychology programs. Leesa is the Lead Researcher in the Compassion, Health, Intimacy, and Perinatal Research Lab and conducts research in the areas of persistent pelvic pain and endometriosis, emotional and sexual intimacy, compassion focused therapies, and perinatal psychology. Leesa is also a registered Clinical Psychologist and Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) approved supervisor, providing supervision to provisionally registered psychologists and psychologists completing their area of practice endorsement (AoPE Clinical) pathway.
