Dr Angelo Antonio Contarino BA, PG Dip Psych, DClin Psych, FAPS, FCCLP Dr Angelo Contarino is a clinical psychologist with over 32 years of experience working in numerous public and private sector environments including – mental health facilities (adult and child and youth), educational settings (schools and universities), the disability employment sector, and in private practice since 1997. He continues to work at his private practice and provides supervision for psychology students/psychologists at various stages of professional development, including students at the University of Queensland. He has even worked as a volunteer for the APS College of Clinical Psychologists over many years, both in Queensland and Nationally, with his final position being in the role of National Chair. In all these roles Dr Contarino has valued the provision of supervision and stressed its importance associated with the improvement of clinical competencies and client outcomes. In recent years he has also provided supervision and masterclass training on a casual basis for the APS. He officially joined the APS Professional Development team as a Lead Training Coordinator for the Supervision Training Program in March 2024. He remains excited to serve psychologists throughout Australia and the APS in this vital role.
