Biography

Michelle has had over 20 years’ experience in the area of educational and developmental psychology. She has built the psychology program at Learning Links for most of this time, and has also worked in public and private schools as well as in a mental health setting to support children and adults in being able to access vital services in rural and remote areas.Michelle is an Educational and Developmental Psychologist and an authorised supervisor, allowing her to supervise provisional psychologists. She has supported over 150 provisional psychologists to complete their registration. She has also lectured and tutored Master of Education students in subjects including educational psychology, adolescent development and inclusion support.Michelle’s passion is helping children with learning difficulties, especially in the area of assessment and diagnosis as well as helping them access the social and emotional support they may need.

Biography

Dr Madeline Fraser is a senior lecturer at ACU and the course coordinator of the Master of Clinical Psychology program (Strathfield campus) she also supervises Honours and Masters research projects. She is a registered psychologist with clinical endorsement, a PsyBA accredited supervisor and a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS). Her qualifications include a Doctor of Clinical Psychology and Masters of Philosophy at Macquarie University in 2015, and a PhD focused on the clinical application of self-compassion at the University of Sydney in 2021. She was the recipient of the 2017 APS Sydney Branch Outstanding Lecturer in Psychology award and was awarded the 2019 APS Early Career Teaching Award. Her research focuses on self-compassion and cultivating a healthy and supportive way of relating to oneself, as opposed to harsh self-criticism. Her research goal is to promote psychological wellbeing through the scientific study and clinical application of self-compassion and healthy ways of self-relating. Her approach is characterised by enthusiasm, curiosity, and a commitment to evidence.

Biography

Professor Kimberley Norris is a psychological scientist and clinical psychologist who works across academic, research and clinical practice settings. She has worked as a psychologist across health service, government, non-government, education, forensic, and private practice settings. Kimberley is a Psychology Board of Australia approved supervisor and has supervised provisional psychologists through the 4+2, 5+1 and clinical psychology registrar pathways. She is passionate about growing the psychology workforce to provide access to safe and effective psychological services for all. Her overarching professional interests are focused on maximising human health, wellbeing and performance in both normal and extreme environments. Her research interests include adaptation and resilience in both extreme (e.g. Antarctica, space, prison and FIFO) and more normative (e.g. academic, life events) environments. Through her work, Kimberley develops new and innovative ways to provide psychological support at an individual, organisational and relationship level.

Biography

Traci is a registered psychologist and primary teacher who joined the NSW Department of Education’s School Counselling Service in 1993, beginning her career in remote northwest NSW. She has since worked across rural areas, focusing on improving mental health and wellbeing support for children and families in these regions.Traci is the Leader of Psychology Programs and Development within the NSW Department of Education's Child Wellbeing and Mental Health Services Unit. She oversees initiatives to expand the School Counselling Service through scholarships and recruitment programs.With extensive experience in executive roles, Traci has supported teams of school counsellors and psychologists in both metropolitan and rural schools. She is committed to growing and enhancing school mental health services across the state.Traci lives in regional NSW with her husband, daughter, and seven dogs!
