What is the APS Festival of Psychology?
The APS Festival of Psychology is a conference designed to celebrate and advance the field of psychology. With more than 120 speakers, a range of sessions, interactive workshops, and thought-provoking discussions, the Festival provides a unique opportunity to engage with cutting-edge research and evidence-based practice and network with peers.
Developed in response to member feedback, this event is more than just a conference. It is a space for psychologists to connect, collaborate, and strengthen the professional community. Whether you're looking to deepen your expertise, share insights, or be inspired by new perspectives, the Festival offers a rich and inclusive learning experience.
Where is the conference located?
The 2025 APS Festival of Psychology will be held at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre in the heart of Broadbeach, Queensland.
Who is the conference for?
The APS Festival of Psychology is a conference designed to celebrate and advance the field of psychology. With more than 120 speakers, a range of sessions, interactive workshops, and thought-provoking discussions, the Festival provides a unique opportunity to engage with cutting-edge research and evidence-based practice and network with peers.
Will there be networking opportunities?
Yes! There will be multiple opportunities to connect with peers, including during breaks and at the Welcome Reception on Friday. We will also have exhibitors showcasing organisations, practices, and professionals working in the psychology space.
Is the program CPD approved?
Yes, the program is covered for a 15.5 CPD hours. For further information on the CPD standard and associated guidelines visit the Board website.
Are the sessions being recorded?
No, the sessions will not be filmed.
However, for 2025, we are excited to introduce AI-powered session summaries at the conclusion of the session. The number and breadth of presentations, workshops, and interactive sessions planned over the two days means delegates will have access to the below at no extra cost:
How can I learn more about the speakers?
Speaker bios, session topics, and presentation details are available in the conference program, which can be accessed via the Festival mobile app and website.
Will presenters provide downloadable resources?
Yes, presentation slides and supporting resources will be available to registered attendees via the Festival mobile app and online platform. If they are not available, it means the presenter has chosen not to share them.
Is the event accessible for attendees?
Absolutely! The conference has been designed with accessibility in mind. Features include live captions, sensory-friendly space, clear signage, and a quiet room for in-person attendees. If you have specific accessibility needs, please let us know during registration or contact us with any questions.
Where do I collect my registration lanyard?
The registration desk at the Convention Centre will be open at the following times:
Thursday: 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Friday: From 10:00 AM (Opening session begins at 12:00 PM)
Saturday: From 8:00 AM
Do I need to pre-book sessions?
No, you do not need to pre-book sessions. You are free to move between rooms as you wish.
Will printed programs be available?
The Festival program is accessible via the Festival mobile app and live program website. In line with APS' sustainability goals, printed programs will not be available at the in-person event.
What happens after I register?
Once you have registered and paid, you will receive an email confirmation. Prior to the event, you will receive further details, including access to the event app and pre-arrival information.
What is the Festival mobile app?
The Festival mobile app will be shared with you in your pre-arrival communication and allows you to:

Will catering be provided?
Friday, 16 May: Arrival lunch, afternoon tea, and an evening welcome reception
Saturday, 17 May & Sunday, 18 May: Morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea
The AON-sponsored Connection Café will also have barista coffee available
Will there be a cloakroom?
Yes, a self-serve cloakroom will be available at the Convention Centre for luggage. However, APS advises caution when leaving your possessions and requests you do not leave items of high personal or financial value, as we cannot be responsible for these items.
What should I wear?
Business casual attire is recommended. The venue is air-conditioned, so consider bringing a light jacket.
What are the transport and parking options?
Train: Gold Coast stations connect to Brisbane CBD. From Helensvale Train Station, take the G:link tram to Broadbeach North Station. Plan your journey at TransLink.
Taxi: Taxis frequently service GCCEC. A courtesy phone is available in the foyer.
Parking: Undercover parking is available for $15 (GST inclusive). EV chargers are available. Download the ZipBy app for touchless entry.
Bus: Surfside Bus lines operate services from Gold Coast Highway. Plan your journey at TransLink.
G:link Light Rail: The G:link connects Helensvale to Broadbeach. The closest stop is Broadbeach North, just across from GCCEC. More info at Ride the G.
